- If your English is beginner or pre-intermediate, try my A2 listening lessons.
- If your English is intermediate or upper intermediate, start with my B1/B2 listening lessons, instead.
These lessons will help you “train your ear” so you can understand more when listening to common situations and topics in English.
All A2/B1/B2 listening lessons include:
- Common everyday English listening topics (work, childhood, friends, food, etc)
- Listen in full (video monologue)
- Gist questions (listen and answer general questions)
- Detail questions (listen and answer specific questions)
- Train your ear (write 2 or 3 words you hear in short phrases).
- Mini dictation (listen to one or two sentences and write what you hear).
- Read and listen (listen again to the speaker, and read at the same time).
A2 English listening lessons
These free A2 listening lessons are for beginner and pre-intermediate English learners.
Each speaker talks slowly, grammar and vocabulary are more basic, and talks are shorter.
B1/B2 English listening lessons
The free B1/B2 English listening lessons in this section are for Intermediate / upper-intermediate English learners.
You’ll meet the same speakers and topics as in the A2 listening lessons, but the English they use is faster, more complex and more natural.
You will need to listen very carefully!
